LMC Welsh Dinner Meet
23 Nov 2018 to 25 Nov 2018

Annual Welsh Dinner Meet with dinner at the Royal Victoria Hotel on the Saturday night.

After a gap of two years the Welsh Dinner meet returns. It’s a great opportunity for all members to get together, dust off their dancing
shoes and get out into the hills before the bleak mid-winter.

The meet runs over a weekend, with the usual opportunities to go out walking, scrambling or climbing on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday evening, we provide transport from Fronwydyr and other, nearby local huts to the Royal Victoria Hotel in Llanberis for a three course dinner. This is followed by a Ceilidh with 'The Rumble Strips' who will ‘call’ the dances, so no previous knowledge of ceilidh dancing is required. The evening finishes just after midnight with transport back to the huts.

This year the Alpine Club are also holding their Welsh Dinner at the Royal Victoria
on the Saturday evening. LMC members and guests have been invited to join Alpine Club members at the hotel for an hour's session of short talks, together with a presentation, by Mick Fowler and Phil Jones, of 'Cascade' and 'Central Icefall Direct', in 1978 and 1979. This starts at 5:30pm. Please let the meet steward know if you wish to attend.

There is a maximum of 40 places for this Welsh Dinner weekend.

The three course meal, accommodation for Friday and Sat. nights, Sat.'s ceilidh
band and the taxi to/from the hut to the hotel costs £55 per person. Members are welcome to book for one guest if they wish.
