Gritstone Gallop
21 Jun 2019 to 23 Jun 2019

The annual Gritstone Gallop. An ideal way to get fit for either the Alps or the Champagne Challenge.

But what is this Gallop? Allegedly used by various clubs as a pre-Alps training weekend the idea of the gallop is to climb one route at each of the eastern edges walking between them carrying all gear and food etc.

We'll be staying at the Eric Byrne campsite which is situated between Gardom and Birchen edge's which is handy for the finish, if you start at the Stanage end. It also has a pub that does good food within crawling distance, which is also even more handy ;o)
If your gonna do the actual Gallop you want to be up nice and early and climbing your first route by 6.00am. We generally leave a car at the starting point and pick it up the following day, but we can work out the logistics nearer the time.
