Participating in meets is what the club is all about. Meets are run by members, for members.
The club thrives by having members take an active interest in the meets that are run. To volunteer to steward a meet, or to suggest a new meet, please contact our meets secretary. The FAQ page offers advice on what to expect on a meet and guidelines for organising meets. Remember that if you have spotted potential for a new meet, the chances are high that others will also be interested!

Work off the Christmas excesses at the club hut.
Meet full by mid Nov! Great everyone who has booked on, many thanks. Will be in touch nearer the time to sort out transport - looks like we may need to have a few sharing as we won't fit all the cars in the car park!
Due to cancellations there are some places at Fronwydyr now available, and a number of cars coming.
I will be setting off Thurs lunchtime so out of contact. Please use web site for transport arrangements. Cheers and see you in North Wales. Steve.
Scotland's nice, but Europe has the ice!
A chance to finally place those ice screws in an area famous for having 300 days of sun each year.
We'll be staying in the village of L'Argentiere-la-Bessee in the Hautes-Alpes. There are many picturesque valleys situated nearby boasting a huge range of ice climbs of all grades, some up to 700m long!
The deadline has now passed to be included in the group accommodation booking. Other members are welcome to join but will need to find their own place to stay. There is a passable youth hostel https://www.icerockhotel.com/ or rental properties are available on airbnb or via the tourist information office
https://www.france-voyage.com/cities-towns/l-argentiere-la-bessee-17322/tourist-office-argentiere-bessee-6955.htm
Closest airport is Turin, or it's possible to drive in two, or one very long day.
Familiarity with the techniques required for ice climbing is recommend for those intending to come on this meet. I can't guarantee that other participants will be in a position to provide beginner instruction to those without experience of this type of climbing. Local guides are available for hire should people wish to learn the basics when they're out there, or there is an indoor ice wall in Covent Garden.
Scotland is not recommended as a venue for learning to ice climb! :-)

MoreMark VE Day in style in one of the most beautiful parts of the world!
The Northwest Highlands are home to some of the most stunning scenery not just in Scotland, but in the whole wide World. This is some of the oldest exposed land on the planet and the primeval feel of the monstrous hills here will have you planning return visits the second you leave them.
Staying at the Ullapool Youth Hostel from Thursday night to Sunday morning, this meet is designed for those who want to explore the leviathan peaks of Assynt in the North and the remote and dramatic peaks of Fisherfield to the west. Hillwalking, trail running and scrambling of the finest vintage are all in high supply here. There are currently 12 spaces booked, I will expand meet size if there is enough demand.
Assynt is home to inselberg peaks that rise uninterrupted from a lochan-studded valley floor, quite unlike anything else in Britain. Suilven is the obvious main attraction, a mountain that has to be seen to be believed. The nearby hills of Canisp and Quinag are almost as spectacular, sublime objectives in their own right. Mini but mighty, Stac Pollaidh is the scrambler’s hill, a veritable playground of rock that is easily accessed from the road.
Fisherfield is the epitome of Highland grandeur. Featuring some of the most remote and majestic Munros in A’ Mhaighdean (best summit view of any Munro according to Dale) and Ruadh Stac Mor, it is a place of staggering wilderness and scale. Top billing goes to the castellated An Teallach, often cited as Scotland’s greatest mountain and a must for any self respecting British mountaineer. The challenge of the traverse of the Corrag Bhuidhe pinnacles, a grade three scramble, is not one to miss.
There are flights to Inverness from London and from there it is an hour and a half’s drive to Ullapool. The plan will be to arrange to meet in Inverness and hire cars.

MoreSandstone Slabs and sandy beaches. A popular destination for surfing. One of the area is described as
‘On the slabs the situations are usually superb, protection is at worst adequate, and the rock is normally solid. The excellent friction combines with the amendable angle, and the emphasis on footwork rather than arms is welcome news for the old, weak, infirm, and those suffering surfeits of Peak District limestone.’
Tides are favourable and the plan is to camp at Easewell Farm Campsite which is within a short drive from Baggy Point.

MoreMake most of the daylight and come along for a nice long walk in the picturesque Epping Forest to enjoy autumn colours in full bloom.

We'll be camping near Hathersage, with the campsite being just a 30 minute walk from Stanage Edge, one of the Peak District's best loved crags. Over a mile long and with around 1,700 routes to choose from, this is gritstone at its best!

MoreA cycling adventure in the South Downs — Guildford to Brighton, 70km (or 100km if anyone is keen to go beyond humanitarian bubble).
It's rather an easy and pleasant ride on mainly disused rail track, with some bridleway and bits of public road as well. Gravel/touring bicycles are ideal for it, hardtail Halford's specials will be fine too, rugged hybrids should also cope, but slicks probably aren't so good (although you never know, so you're welcome to try!)
There is an escape or join option at Christ Church station about 25km further on our route.
Start at Guildford train station, main entrance, 9am.
Finish Hove or Brighton beach, with FishAndChipsAndTwoSmokingPintsOfLager on the beach.
We need at least four souls to sign up for this challenge and make it an official club meet!
