Fronwydyr: Snowdownia: Geology walk
20 Aug 2004 to 21 Aug 2004

Have you wondered what made the rcoks and mountain landscape that we walk and climb on? Richard will be using his geological training and love of the hills to explain the formation of Snowdownia in a walk on Saturday. Here is what he says:
'Before Beasts Roamed the Earth'
We'll be winding the clock back to a time when Fronwydyr lay south of the equator on a string of volcanic island surrounded by deep oceans teeming with life, though no life existed on land. Also, we'll discuss the role that carbon dioxide played in determining the climate at the time, you can also see a 12 minute video in the evening on what this means for biodiversity today.
