Navigation using a map and compass is a key skill for safe travel in the mountains.
The weekend will be informal and focus on practical navigation advice and exercise involving on-the-hill exercises to learn or brush up on map reading and compass use. The weekend is suitable for complete beginners as well as enjoyable for the very experienced.
The weekend will be run by experienced club member Stephen Clark and Emma Blount will be the meet steward. Please ensure you bring OL17 ordnance survey map, a compass and a willing attitude. Also there will be an optional pre-meet skills tuition get together over a pint in The Devereux pub in Temple (location tbc)7pm Monday 2nd Nov."
