The Lost World of Dolpo
26 Sep 2014 to 20 Oct 2014

A 3-week expedition to the remote Dolpo region of Nepal for a maximum of 6 LMC members.

The plan is to fly westward from Kathmandu to the airstrip at Juphal and then follow circular the trail through Lower and Upper Dolpo. This unique area retains the ancient Bon and Buddhist culture of Tibet. We plan to visit Shey Gompa and the Crystal Mountain made famous in Peter Matthiessen’s book “The Snow Leopard”.

There is no peak to climb on the itinerary but there is the challenge of three passes to cross at over 5000m.

This is an ambitious and demanding itinerary. You must be fit. You must be a team player. You must have previous winter walking experience.

This is a camping trip. There will be a full Nepali crew of porters, cook, kitchen boys and trekking Sherpas.
