Skye is the largest and most northerly large island in the Inner Hebrides, off of the west coast of Scotland.
The island is dominated by the Cuillin Mountains, home of the famous ridge traverse. Typically done over two days, the ridge traverse is considered by many to be the best mountaineering challenge in the UK.
As well as mountaineering, there is a huge amount of walking, climbing and less committing scrambles. Among the destinations for climbers are the sea cliffs of Neist Point on the western coast of the island, the mountainous southern half of the island, and the incredible formation of Kilt Rock, home to one of the UK’s best E1s.
The club has not been to Skye for a couple of years, so this meet is a welcome addition to this year's programme.
The meet will be based at the Sligachan Campsite, on the coast at the foot of the Cuillin, but there is the potential to stay in the nearby Sligachan bunkhouse.
