A weekend run by club members to take people through navigation skills (Steve Jefkins and Stephen Clark). Useful both for overconfident experienced mountaineers as much as the less experienced. We help each other out and learn lots.
The weekend is focused on reading the map and compass; both essential even if you tend to rely on a GPS. You’ll end up a better navigator, and be able to hold your own when others want to take you into the abyss.
The weekend is based on routes set up to learn skills. Includes night navigation, a fireworks spectacle for those back before 10pm, and a Sunday navigation-led quiz with prizes.
Optional classroom session over a pint in a London pub on evening (7pm) of Monday 30th October (with compasses).
