Grit Stone Gallop - Peak District
16 Jun 2017 to 17 Jun 2017

The annual Grit Stone Gallop back by popular demand.

But what is this Gallop, alledgedly used by various clubs as a pre Alps training weekend the idea of the gallop is to climb one route at each of the eastern edges walking between them carrying all gear and food etc.
Starting at Stanage (high neb)
Stanage (plantation)
Stanage (popular)
Burbage north
Burbage south
Millstone
Lawrencefield
Frogatt
Curbar
Baslow
Gardoms
Birchen

Thats a total of 12 routes/crags. Purists/nutters will add Yarncliffe (bit of a hole) and Chatsworth which involves walking past the campsite and pub, not good. You'll have to be climbing by 7am and if you make it to the pub before closeing time you'll have done well. The real crux of the day seems to be getting back out of the Grindleford cafe, you have been warned !!!!

We'll be camping at the splendid Eric Byrne campsite situated right by the last crag Birchen, oh and it is near a great pub.

Arrive Friday evening (16/06) and depart Sunday (18/06).
