A trip to the glorious Scottish isle, home to the Cuillin Ridge.
World class trad, scrambling, mountaineering, hiking, bouldering....everything except sport climbing basically.
Staying at the Portree Independent Hostel that has a range of rooms of various sizes and a very flexible cancellation policy should Covid rules mean the trip can't go ahead.
They hope to have their shared kitchen open for guests, but at a minimum will have microwave/kettle/sandwich making facilities available should communal cooking not be allowed.
It is suggested that groups/partnerships that plan to come make their own bookings directly at the hostel given the current situation, but I'm happy to help facilitate that if needed, feel free to get in touch (ecvme@yahoo.com)
Some of us have already booked to stay in static caravan nearby.
There are campsites on the island but given the typically high levels of rainfall, and the midges, camping is not recommended.
Travel - It's possible to fly or take a train to Glasgow or Inverness and then hire a car but this is likely to be a lot more expensive and less flexible and refundable than driving up. Having a car up there to get to around the island is highly recommended.
