Fronwydyr Meet
8 Oct 2021 to 10 Oct 2021

A trip to the hut for weekend mountain activities.

• Climbing
The Llanberis pass is one of the most rock-climbing valleys with amazing crags and rock climbs of every grade and style.

• Scramble/hiking
Crib Goch-it’s an exposed grade 1 scramble. It’s by far tougher than all the other main routes up Snowdon. The NE ridge up Crib Goch is the toughest approach, with the usual PYG track approach being next. The next hardest routes would be Y Gribin and then Y Lliwedd
The Watkin Path- it’s easier than Crib Goch. However, the final section of this path is considered to be 2nd toughest. It’s also physically demanding – with more ascent than any other direct ascent.
The South Ridge Route- It’s the hardest as it is longer and does involve a quieter path with some sections of scrambling and exposure on Bwlch Main. This scrambling isn’t as hard as the inconvenience.

• Walks
If you don’t want to climb or scramble, or just want something to unwind after climbing, then walk to Llanberis’ Waterfall – Ceunant Mawris is ideal. It's well-hidden down a country lane near the Llanberis Path. Also a quick stroll along the lakeside you will see the sculpture of a 6-metre-high sword- Llafn y Cewri (Blade of the Giants) which is located next to Llyn Padarn.
