Join me for a circular day hike through Dorking, length about 16kms.
The plan is to start at 9am sharp at West Dorking station (I could be persuaded to start earlier, if people are up for it).
There is off-street parking around West Dorking. Anyone coming from London via train will probably arrive at Dorking Main or Dorking Deepdene station - from there it is a shortish walk to West Dorking, but I am happy to pick people up.
The hike will not be particularly hard - there aren't any overly steep sections and the paths are well maintained. I did a practice run of the hike last weekend, and unfortunately one of the paths is blocked by a huge fallen tree branch so I am working out alternative routing at the moment, but this may add 0.5 miles or so to the hike.
The hike will take between 4 and 5 hours, depending on whether or not we stop off at a pub for a pint half way through :-).
I am using OS Explorer Map 146.
Weather forecast shows rain in the late afternoon, but I hope by then we are finished.
