Come and spend a long weekend climbing unpronounceable hills in indifferent weather - the annual Winter Munro Meet.
December can be a fickle time of year in the Scottish hills, you may require a balaclava and sunscreen in equal measure, so you’ll need to come suitably equipped and don’t forget to pack a sense of humour!
Newtonmore, which is only a few miles from the geographical centre of Scotland, is well situated for the mountains of Cairngorm, Creag Meagaidh, Drumochter and Monadh Liath. https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/
Newtonmore is also well provided for in terms of public transport, shops and services – Newtonmore rail station is a short walk from the accommodation and is served by trains from London. Buses from Edinburgh and Inverness also stop in Newtonmore.
We have sole occupancy of the Newtonmore Hostel: https://www.newtonmorehostel.co.uk/.
Hut fees are £28 pppn (£84 total) and are payable on sign-up.
Bookings are non-refundable, but if you need to cancel and someone takes your place they can reimburse you directly.
A whatsapp group for the meet will be added to the community in due course.
